ESD TR-53 “Compliance Verification of ESD Protective Equipment and Materials” is the current standard governing shoe grounder and wrist strap testing: ESD TR-53
TR53-01-18 was approved for publication on May 31, 2018.
Section 7.0 covers wrist straps. Section 7.2 requires “an integrated checker capable of indicating a failure above the required limit of 3.5 x 107 ohms.”
Factory Wrist Strap Settings:
• Low Control Limit: 750 kilohms (7.5 x 105 ohms)
• High Control Limit: 10 megohms (1 x 107 ohms)
